Cobalt

 

I've never been to New York City, so I was really looking forward to this trip. This is the first time I didn't fly on United Airlines. We took the Delta Shuttle on a Saturday morning. It was a breeze at National Airport. Check-in was quick. Tim paid $50 extra for me (one way). No health certificate was required. The flight was smooth. We sat in the back of the plane, so  after landing at LaGuardia, we exited the rear of the plane down some stairs (careful Tim!). We went to the front of the Marine Air terminal and waited for our car service. It was just a 30-minute ride to our hotel, the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers on 53rd Street and 7th Avenue.

 

 

The Sheraton New York Hotel and Tower is a 4-star hotel and is super pet-friendly. But I only saw 2 other dogs there. Tim liked the check-in kiosk because is was quick, but he didn't know he was supposed to pick up a "pet" sign for the room. The hotel was crowded because of a huge week-long talent show for new young models that was going on in the hotel next door. I got a lot of "cute" comments all weekend long.

 

We ate at Maison, a French Bistro, with an outdoor patio across the street from the Sheraton. NYC tap water tastes great and the service was good. Tim got to eat dinner at Pastis and Sunday brunch at Balthazar.

 

 

The closest park is Central Park, about 6 long blocks from the Sheraton. Tim typically doesn't walk more than two blocks, so he was exhausted by the time we got to Central Park. There were dozens of dogs all around. After resting, we slowly walked all the way back to the hotel.

 

 

 

Tim went to the Apple store on Fifth Avenue. Twice. Without me. Twice. The iPhone is super popular, but since Tim isn't an early adopter (he recently got his first iPod in March), I know it will be a long time before he gets rid of his horrible cell Treo 700wx phone.
